Older cooling technologies, such as air cooling, cannot keep up. Liquid cooling that is applied directly to CPU and GPU chips is the standard for new data centers, as it has significantly better heat dissipation and uses less power. Many facilities now run hybrid systems (air and liquid) as they gradually upgrade to full liquid cooling.
